Fliearman, Robert Robert Fliearman, age 90, of Pierson passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 23, 2013 and went home to be with the Lord. He was a WWII veteran and retired U.A.W. Region 1D Director. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Peg); brothers, Jacob, Richard, Thomas, Carl; sisters, Harriet Locke, Minerva Durnez, Winifred Leslie, Isabelle VanderMaas, and Mona McGrath. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Linda and Steve Ritz, Steve and Leigh Fliearman; grandchildren, Nick Ritz, Becky and Matt Baker, Sarah and Christopher Woelk, Rob and Jessica Fliearman, Kate Fliearman; many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 10:30 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Interment Pierson Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may join the family Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the funeral home and on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 am at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the U.A.W. Terry Lint Memorial Scholarship of Grand Rapids Community College or a charity of one’s choice.

Linda, how nice to hear from you. I think my mom kept forgetting to tell me "something" and it must have been because she had seen you. Yes, she was doing pretty good and then got the flu like many on the floor did. I am assuming that is what took her from us although I truly believe it was her time. I have so many memories of her that I will treasure and so sorry to hear of your father's death as well. Were you happy with his care there?
