​Robert Eugene McAllister, age 88, of Caledonia, passed away at home on Friday, January 5, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. Bob loved to fish. He worked for Wolverine Brass Works for over 30 years and later retired from Bosch. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 26 years, Mary; children: Bernadette (Mike) Scott, Gordon McAllister, Dianne (Scott) Zawacki; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister and brother, Judy Boersma, Daniel Badge; many nieces and nephews. “Gene” was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel Scheese, Robert McAllister and brother, Albert McAllister. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Bob’s life will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 616 E. Main St. SE, Caledonia, with a burial to follow at Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
