Robert E. Konwinski

Robert E. Konwinski, age 94, of Caledonia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who lived a full and active life. A lifelong golfer, his love for the game began as a young caddy at Cascade Country Club and grew into a passion that made him well known throughout the Grand Rapids golfing community. In addition to golf, Bob enjoyed bowling throughout his life and shared with Dolly a love for all things sports. An entrepreneur at heart, he founded Kentwood Floor Coverings and took great pride in building it into a successful business. Outside of work and sports, Bob found relaxation in fishing, but his greatest joy was always his family. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating memories they will hold dear forever. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Dolores “Dolly” Konwinski; brother, Howard Konwinski, Dale Konwinski; sister, Betty and Bill Hill. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Susan and Dale Barton, Patricia and Scott Bylsma, sons, Robert Konwinski Jr., Thomas Konwinski; grandchildren, Laurie and Gordon Lau, Daniel and Vanessa Barton, Aaron Konwinski, Kasey and Will Fawcett, Mallory and Kyle Mroz, Kyleigh Konwinski; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Liam, Charlee, Reese; sister-in-law, Eleanor Cerven, Ruth Konwinski; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 1253 52nd St. SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Peter Vu officiating.  Burial will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 10-11 am at the church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Special Olympics Michigan.
