Robert “Bob” Szarowicz

Robert “Bob” Francis Szarowicz (age 61) of Hudsonville went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 19, 2024. Bob was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. To Bob, God and his family meant everything, his pride and joy being his wife and children. He also loved sports, especially playing golf with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Szarowicz; sister, Debra Buckhout; and parents-in-law, LaVerne and Gloria Ritzema. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 32 years, Julie Szarowicz; his children, Carlye and Jacob Kaminski, Jesse and Kaitlyn Szarowicz, Samuel Szarowicz, and Devyn Szarowicz; his mother, Mary Reavis; his siblings, David and Elaine Szarowicz, Julie Lupo, Gayle Szarowicz, and Daniel Szarowicz; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill Buckhout, Rachel and Joe Rincones, Andrew and Teresa Ritzema, and Alex and Abelina Ritzema. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1481 Baldwin St., Jenison, with Pastor Brian West officiating. The burial will take place at Floral View Memorial Gardens in Grandville. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, January 24, from 4-7 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, and on Thursday, January 25, from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Gilda’s Club of Grand Rapids.
