Robert “Bob” Schutt, aged 91, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed peacefully in to the arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 20, 2016. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Leah (Stressman); parents, Gerrit and Ida (Siebeling) Schutt; brothers, Peter and John; sisters, Katherine, Julia, Evelyn and Janet. He was a long-time member of Godwin Heights Christian Reformed Church. He proudly served his country in WWII as an airplane mechanic. He loved making memories with his family at Sandy Pines. His greatest joy in life was his family. He will be greatly missed by his children, Susan (Ben) Haaksma, Cheryl Schutt, Robert (Kim) Schutt, Pamela (Stephen) Cincotta; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren with three more great-grandchildren expected in the spring; sister-in-law, Barb Collins; brothers-in-law, Sam Nickerson, Donald Ladner, John Herrington; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Bob will be remembered in a private celebration of his life with family. The family asks that you remember Bob by doing a random act of kindness for someone this holiday season.

My condolences to the family during this difficult time. No one can prepare us for the grief we experience when we lose a loved one. However, we can always find comfort from God’s word. At 1 Peter 5:7, we are encouraged to "throw all your anxiety on him, because he (God) cares for you" (Philippians 4:6,7). Although missed, your loved one is not forgotten, and God who is the life giver, is eager to restore to life those who have fallen asleep in death and promises to do so by means of a resurrection (John 5:28,29).
