Robert “Bob” Poll, a faithful man of God, went home to Glory on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. He was 95 years of age. He was an amazing husband, father, grandpa, and great grandpa. His zest for life, humor that touched us all, solid faith in Jesus Christ, will be his legacy that will live in the hearts of all he loved. He co-owned Johnson Construction Company, coached many because of his love for baseball, and served his Lord in all areas at Eighth Reformed Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sarah of 61 years in 2007; his parents and brothers, Tom and Ray; sister, Helene Glerum. He is survived by his children, Dianne Kooiker, Judy and Jay Miglore, Jim and Carol Poll, Jack and Mary Poll; his 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, Kraig and Tara Kooiker (Kelli, Ashley, MacKenzie, Alexis), Kevin and Denice Kooiker (Taylor, Jace, Kyler, Jaxten), Kurt and Denise Kooiker (Landyn, Ezeraya), Karla and Brad Van Buren (Brayden, Haley), Dawn and Jim Durham (Hannah, Nate), Brooke and Greg Schmidt, JR and Jenna Poll (Zachary, Audrey), Lisa and DJ VanderSlik (Dane, Ty, Chase, Nash), Eric and Lauren Poll (Lincoln), Jason and Kortney Poll (Quinn, Kenten, Krosby, Kingston, Kurry), Stephanie and Chad Ethridge. He is also survived by his dear and special friend, Joanne Sikkema; his in-laws, Marilyn Poll, Betty and Elmer Wynalda: nieces, nephews and dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday 11 am at Eighth Reformed Church, 841 Burton St. SW, Wyoming with Rev. Robert Langenberg officiating. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Friday from 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Saturday from 10-10:45 am at church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Sunset Association Benevolent Fund.
