Robert “Bob” Koenes

Robert “Bob” Koenes, age 80, of Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly and went to be with his Lord on Monday, January 2, 2017. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, David Moelker; granddaughter, Kara Kars; great granddaughter, Caitlin Faber; parents John and Cornelia Koenes; brother, Melvin and Henny Koenes; twin brother, Richard Koenes. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Arlene; children, Deb Moelker, Bob Koenes and fiancée, Lisa Owsiany; Randy and Debbie Koenes, Kari and Cal Kars, Julie Koenes, Tim Koenes and Shavon Melendez; grandchildren, Tod and Sarah Moelker, Trevor and Katie Moelker, Tara and Andy Howell, Trent Moelker, Travis and Ashley Moelker, Lindsey and Dustin Buchanan, David Koenes, Ashley Koenes, Kim and Tom Grimm, Shelly and Mike Faber, Scott Kars and friend, Brianna Ebner;14 great grandchildren; sisters, Gert and Morris Driesenga, Lorraine and Herb Maatman; brother, Jack and Mary Koenes. All who knew Bob will miss how he made everyone laugh with his quick wit and his sentimental love for all. Memorial services will be held on Thursday 12:00 noon at Faith Community Christian Reformed Church, 5250 Byron Center SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Mike Baynai officiating. Interment Kent Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and one hour prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.

Arlene, Gert, & Morrie, Dad (Bud Koorndyk) and I were so saddened to hear of Bob's sudden death. I loved working with Bob at Fasteners. He mentored me as a 15-16 year old "kid". I have many fond memories of those days. Dad wanted me to also express his deepest sympathies to you, too.. Remembering you all in our thoughts and prayers as you adjust to life without this special man!!

Mrs. Koenes: I am sorry to hear of the passing of your husband. I remember him as a mechanic. Deb- I went to Godwin Christian School and you were in my classes during those 10 years.
