Robert “Bob” Louis Holmquist, age 84, of Grandville, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 11, 2017. Bob was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather that had a deep love for his family. He was a Korean War veteran, proudly serving his country in the US Army. Bob retired from Kroger after over 20 years of dedicated service. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Norene Holmquist; his son, Brian Lee Holmquist; his brother, Wayne Blake; and his sister, Marian Blake. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Bruce Holmquist, Lori and Tim Fisher; grandchildren, Michael Post-Holmquist, Kelly Jo Sullivan, Stacey and Marcus Brewer; great granddaughter, Sophie Brewer; step granddaughter, Fawn Fisher; step great grandchildren, Gavin, Levi, and Lillian Henry, Brenden, and Dyllan Brewer; sister-in-law, Alice Pikaart; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 11 AM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW. A luncheon and fellowship time will be held immediately following the service in the Memories Room at the funeral home. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 10-11 AM, prior to the service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Attic After School at Wyoming Park Bible Fellowship, 2260 Porter St. SW, Wyoming, MI 49519.
