Robert Auer

AUER - Robert Joseph Auer, age 88, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey (Harless) Auer; brother, Phillip Auer. Robert is survived by his children, Michael (Donna) Auer and Linda (Stephen) Prescott; grandchildren, Ryan (Yesenia) Auer, Isaac (Sara Keefe) McCormack, Alex Auer, Mackenzie (Reymundo) Gomez; great grandchildren, Reyleigh, Oliver and Bellaney Gomez; brother, Stephen (Beth) Auer; special friend, Joe McCormack; also surviving are the Harless, McCormack and Porter families; many nieces and nephews. Robert was a forester at Consumers Energy, retiring after many years. After retiring he and Audrey operated "Log Cabin Christmas Trees" in Spring Arbor, MI. Robert was strong in his Catholic faith and an active member of both St. Mary's in Jackson and St. Roberts in Grand Rapids and supportive to many other Parishes. He proudly served his country as a Pilot and LT. J.G. in the US Navy. Robert was known for his generosity, love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing, family, God and most of all for telling jokes! Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00AM Thursday March 14, 2019 at Our Lady Consolation Parish, 4865-11 Mile Rd. NE., Rockford. His family will greet relatives and friends one hour prior to Mass at Church. Interment Ft. Custer National Cemetery. In memory of Bob, please tell a friend a joke!
