Robert Arthur Schab

Robert Arthur Schab, age 89 of Wyoming, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine; and former wife, Margaret Schab, daughter, Sandy, sister, Bea Mooney, brother and sister-in-law, Chet and Margie Schab and step-daughter, Sharon Manly. He is survived by his children, Nancy (Julian) Villarreal, Sue (Mark) O’Keefe, Michele (Earl) Tolliver, Rob Schab, Teri (John) Lenartz, Greg (Renee) Schab; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; special step-granddaughter, Chrissy Sella. Butch, as he was known by his children, was a long time Kelvinator employee, who loved to play golf with his sons. He also enjoyed spending winters in Florida. At one of his favorite restaurants, he was given the nickname of “Grandpa Fluffy Buns”, because he didn’t like flat buns. His ”Little Peanut” described him as a stubborn, grumpy old man, with a hard shell and a big heart. Bob served valiantly during WWII in the US Army. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Saturday, April 23 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson SW, Grandville with Fr. Chris Rouech presiding. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will meet relatives and friends Friday 2-4 & 6-8pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville and Saturday 10-11am at church. A rosary will be held 7:30pm Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Pius X Church.
