Robert and Carol Boot

Robert “Bob” and Carol Boot, aged 64, of Wyoming, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 18, 2023, following a motorcycle accident. Bob and Carol were boat enthusiasts and enjoyed their summers in Holland and Grand Haven, but more so loved spending time with their family and grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice and Al Holtrop, and John Hovinga. They will be lovingly remembered by their daughter, Renee and Jeremiah Busscher; grandchildren, Spencer, Levi, Brady; his parents, Robert and Marty Boot, Yvonne Burman Boot; his sister, Judy and Eric Neubecker; her sisters and brother, Elaine and Doug De Hoogh, Bill and Gert Hovinga, Joy and Andy Jones; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday, June 23, 2023 at South Harbor, 1951 64th St. SW, Byron Center with Pastor Tim Wilson officiating. Burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 5 to 9 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to South Harbor.

Our hearts and sympathies go out to Carol and Bob's beloved family. We are shocked and saddened by the news of their passing. They were kind and warm neighbors here at Safe Harbor Grand Isle and will remember them fondly. We were Carol and Bob’s dock neighbors for the past 2 years. We are shocked and devastated by the news of their passing. They were great neighbors, always welcoming and kind. They would keep an eye on our boat when we weren’t there. One thing that sticks out in my memory was how much they loved and adored their family, especially the grandchildren. We offer or sincerest condolences for this great loss and will pray for consolation for your broken hearts. May they rest is the Lord’s peace in His great kingdom.
