Robert Allen Hoenisch

Robert Allen Hoenisch, age 55, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, March 19, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Annette, just one week ago.  He will be dearly missed by his children, Margaret Joy, David Joshua (fiancée, Lisa), Jonathan Andrew, Joseph Samuel; mother-in-law, Geraldine Scholtens; brothers-in-law, Mark (Julia) Scholtens, Duane (Melissa) Scholtens, Kenneth (Barbara) Scholtens; nieces and nephews, Andrew, Phillip, Paige, Peighton, Lainey, Colter, Kyle, Elizabeth and Emma.  Bob was very creative and had a wonderful ear for music. He was a great woodworker and was well known for the pens, bowls and vases he could turn on a lathe. Bob was very involved in his church, teaching 6th grade Sunday School for many years, ushering, and actively participating in the men’s ministry. Bob had a servant’s heart and enjoyed helping others.  He was also an active staff member in the Grand Rapids Young Marines. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 4 p.m. at Byron Center Bible Church, 8855 Byron Center Ave SW, Byron Center, with Rev. Dr. Rich McCarrell, Pastor Travis Huseby, Pastor Ken McGee and Pastor Mike McClish officiating.  Interment Allendale Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Hoenisch Children Benevolent Fund at Byron Center Bible Church.

There are no words to express my deepest sympathy. Bob was a close friend to me at SpartanNash. One thing he would like me to do is make CDs for him. He made lists of different songs and I would make the CDs. There are so other many memories and I will cherish them forever. Prayers for the kids and the whole family. Until we meet again....I'll smile for you.

Thoughts and Prayer to the Hoenisch children and family during this difficult time. He was a solid member of the second shift team at SpartanNash for over 25 years, the team will not be the same without him.

Words are very difficult after the unimaginable loss for the Hoenisch family. I worked with Bob for over 12 years, and he was a man of conviction, character, faith and humor. You needed humor to be a Cubs fan!! He and I felt the same about many things in life. We shared a story once that whoever got to heaven first had to save a seat for the other one, so Bob it's on you buddy. Prayers and peace for the children and the extended family. See ya again Bob and what a day that will be.

I work in the Security Control Center at SpartanNash, usually in the evenings when Bob would be working. He would always bring me the paper and would be a treat to talk with when I would call the Data Center. I am at a loss but know through faith in our Lord that Bob and Annette are in HIS loving arms. May those same loving arms be wrapped around their children and family / friends to give them strength. Thoughts and prayers to all the family.

God now has another angel in heaven. I send my deepest sympathies to his children and family. I worked with Bob for the past 25 years. We had alot of good times in those years. He came to my daughters graduation and wrote her the best graduation present that she got for graduating. A letter on life! He will really be remembered by my kids and I.

God has gained yet another angel whom will be sadly missed. My deepest sympathies go out to the children and extended family. I will miss his wit, smile, laughter and conversations. Working next to him these past 18 years has been a treasure. My family remembers him lovingly and will miss his forever kindness.
