Robert Alan Postma

Robert Alan Postma, age 78, of Hudsonville, passed into Glory on Friday, May 24, 2019, setting him free from dementia. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and two brothers. Bob was a devoted husband, dad, and grandpa who loved his God, family, country, and cars. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Kay; children and grandchildren, David and Lisa (Stefanie and Travis, Holly), Robin and Allison (Brady), Matt and Jodi (Luke, Nate, Blake, and Jessie); sister-in-law, Helen Postma; several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at noon at Grace Bible Fellowship, 1260 Chicago Dr., Jenison, with Pastor Caleb Befus officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and also on Wednesday from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Cambridge Manor and Spectrum Health Hospice for the love and compassionate care given to Bob. Memorial contributions may be made to Baruch Senior Ministries (Cambridge Manor).

We were saddened to read about Bob’s passing. May the many treasured memories sustain you during this most difficult time. We pray that you find comfort in our Creator’s promises to reunite us with our beloved ones again, in a youthful world, where the causes of pain and sorrow will be a thing of the past. How exciting it will be to see him again doing all the things he loved. Forever find comfort reading Isaiah 25:8, which promises that our tears of mourning will end when death is done away with. Dear Aunt Kay and cousins, Uncle Bob was my most favorite Uncle. I recall several trips to the car races and rides in his convertible as a very young kid not to mention the motorcycle rides. Annette and I pray God’s blessing for you and family during this time.

Dear Kay, I was sad to see the announcement through the GBF email about Bob's passing, while at the same time thankful that he has been set free from his struggle with dementia, as the obituary says. He is home with the Savior he loved. We are praying for comfort for you and your family.
