Rick Jones, age 71, of Grand Rapids, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 13, 2022. He spent many years teaching at Sheldon, Madison, and Brookside Elementary schools. In his spare time, he served with the Boy Scouts and enjoyed gardening. Rick was preceded in death by his father, Harold Jones and sister, Nancy Jones. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Sheryl; daughter, Erica Jones; granddaughter, Kiarra; mother, June Jones; brother, Craig (Beatrice) Jones; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022, 11 am at Wesley Park United Methodist, 1150 32nd St. SW, Wyoming with Rev. Dean Prentiss officiating. Burial Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and one hour prior to the services at church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Lewy Body Dementia Association or Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
