WIERSMA - Richard Louis Wiersma, age 85, died on Saturday, August 1, 2020 to enter heaven where there are no more goodbyes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Edna Wiersma and parents-in-law, Gerald and Mary Harrison. Richard is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nancy Wiersma; children, Deborah (Tim) Chenoweth, Lynn (Pat) Conlen, Mark (Ruth-Ellen) Wiersma, Becca (Stan) Koopmans, Ruth (Ross) Timmerman; nephew, Todd Foust; grandchildren, Molly (Brent) Fulks, Matthew Conlen, Rick (Caroline) Wiersma, Marcus (Melanie) Wiersma, Liesel Koopmans, Schyler Koopmans, Steven Koopmans, Mari Koopmans, Hannah (Jon) Moore, Noah (Lauren) Mooney, Lydia Mooney; great grandchildren, Arthur Fulks, Lana Wiersma, Ezra Wiersma, Jackson Moore, Harrison Moore, Anderson Moore, Emerson Moore. Richard retired from the Yale Public School System as a business teacher many years ago. He had a creative entrepreneurial spirit and loved lighthouses, freighters, and covered bridges, but more than any of those, he loved his family.
