Richard (Rich) William Van Norman, 54, was completely healed on August 10, 2021, when he went home to be with his Heavenly Father. Richard was born in Decorah, Iowa, lived in Minnesota for a few years, and then spent the remainder of his life in Michigan. He loved his family dearly and is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Beth; daughters, Alexis (Stephen) Geldersma, Audra (Jason) Oosterhouse; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Elijah, and Adalynn; his father and mother, Richard & JoAnn Van Norman; siblings, Rick (Kathy) Van Norman, Kyle (Linda) Van Norman, Renee (Dale) Simmons, Kevin (Tamie) Van Norman; and many nieces and nephews. Rich was a cool, calm, collected, and patient man with a giving heart. In his earlier years, he loved to fish and hunt. He was the best gift giver and always remembered everyone’s favorite food. One of his greatest contributions to his family was cooking for them on a regular basis. He served on his homeowner’s association board for several years and enjoyed taking care of the residents. He loved all things Minnesota including the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. The family is grateful that we get to spend eternity together and we will see him again. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 11 am at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Chad Vitarelli officiating. Private family burial will be held at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Saturday from 9:15 – 10:45 am at the funeral home prior to the service.
