Richard Steven Bujaki, age 84, of Belmont, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024. Richard was born on January 11, 1940, in Delray, Michigan to Steven and Mary Bujaki. Richard was the oldest of 5 children. He attended elementary school at Longfellow Elementary in Saginaw, Central Junior High School, and graduated from Saginaw High School. He attended Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. He came back home from college and started working at Saginaw Steering Gear. He then went into an apprenticeship program as a tool and die maker. He then became a journeyman tool and die maker, after his 7-year apprenticeship. After working 3 years in the field, he had a change of career paths. He moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, and homesteaded on a 20 acre property outside of Fairbanks. He lived in Alaska for 30 years and returned back home to Michigan. He then moved to the Tampa Bay area in Florida, where he loved fishing, the warm weather, and sailing on the ocean with his sailboat. At that time, Richard became very interested in computer technology. He continued his love of technology until the time of his passing. He loved genealogy and his family history. He had a passion for his Hungarian ancestry and loved following his heritage traditions. He was known for holding the traditional “peasant greasy bread over the fire pit” at every family event. Even until the time of his passing, he held onto this tradition. During his research on his history,  he was proud that he was able to find a current living ancestor in Hungary, which helped him gather even more information for his family tree. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steven and Mary Bujaki; his sister, Julene; and brother-in-law, Carl Bickel. He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, James (Lowanna) Bujaki, Steve (Kaye) Bujaki, Roseanne Bickel; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.  A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
