Richard Schilo, age 87, of Grandville formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Diane; beloved children, Susan (Daryl) Warwick of Jenison, MI, Richard (Susan) Schilo of Acworth, GA; beloved grandfather of Nicholas Warwick, Grace Warwick, and Sophia Schilo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at St. Pius X, 3937 Wilson Ave SW, Grandville, with Fr. Stephen Durkee presiding. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Tuesday from 10-11 am at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Rich was one of my best friends, growing up in Aliquippa, Pa. We lost track of each other over the decades, but one day he called me on my birthday and talked for hours. For a few years he repeated that - my birthday wishes! Then we lost track again. Growing up, there was never a cross word or dispute between us. Rich was a great athlete, and he had a personality to match, and it affected all his interactions with everyone around him. My condolences to Diane and the family. Rich was a stellar human being, and I'll cherish his memory forever.
