Richard “Rick” Noorman

Richard “Rick” Noorman, age 62, of Kentwood, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 26, 2017. Rick was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who was adored by his family.  He was a “jack-of-all-trades” and known by all as a selfless, humble, kind, hardworking, generous provider.  Rick spent his two year battle with cancer living out the motto “enjoy life” with family.  Throughout the cancer journey, Rick and Laurie experienced so many “God Moments” where God’s blessings were poured out through family and friends, making the brutal journey beautiful.  He was preceded in death by his dad, Marvin Noorman; father-in-law, Louis Kikstra; and mother-in-law, Lucy Kikstra-Diephouse. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Laurie Noorman; children and grandchildren, Angie and Brian Holwerda (Ethan, Paige, Kylee, Brynn), Heidi and Tim Workman (Claire, Gavin, Reese), Steve Noorman; mother, Kaye Noorman; brother and sisters, Jakki and Rog VanderLaan, Ruth and Jim Lytle, Dave and Mary Noorman, Karla and Dave Bolton, Bonnie and Jim Gaskell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Carl and Ruth Kikstra Sr., Mary and Gary Armstrong, Jim and Anne Kikstra; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Providence Christian Reformed Church, 7730 Eastern Avenue SE, Grand Rapids with Pastor JB Wernlund officiating.  Interment will be held at Winchester Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Providence Christian Reformed Church.
