Richard “Rich” Peasley, aged 84 of Wyoming, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters, and his grandma Bessie. He is survived by his wife and sweetheart of 59 years, Carol; children, Lori and John TenHopen, Douglas and Lea Peasley; grandchildren, Johnny Richard, Nick, Hanna, Christian, Makena “the Pooh”, A.J., Nathan, and Blake; sister-in-law, Maureen Glemboski; and also his dog, Beau. Richard, a proud American, served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, following that he served in US Navy as well. He showed respect to his country and flag by standing whenever the National Anthem was played. Rich dearly loved his family and was always selfless with a very unique sense of humor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1935 Plymouth SE, Grand Rapids, with Fr. Troy Nevins presiding. Interment with Military Honors at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Sunday from 6 to 8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Legion DW Cassard - Post 208 .
