Richard O’Brien

O’BRIEN – Richard Craig O’Brien, 66, of Grand Rapids, Michigan and most recently Naples, Florida went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 13, 2020.  Rich joined his mother, Mary Theresa (Bergin) and his brother, Michael Leo in life everlasting.  He will be deeply missed here by his four sons, Sean Patrick, Craig Michael (Veronica), Eric Daniel (Kim)  and Kyle Richard; his father, Leo Richard; his brothers and sisters, Dave, Mary (Matt) Hauschild, Dan (Mellie), Maureen, and Tom (Robin); his grandson, Wyatt; and his many nieces and nephews.  Rich loved spending time with his family, playing baseball, Gus Macker hoops, golf and Florida beaches.  Rich had a passion for history and ancestry; tracing his roots back several generations.  He shared his faith and testimony with many.  Rich’s compassion was shown by his kindness and humanity for those he loved. 

The family will greet visitors from 10 to 11 am on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE, Belmont, MI 49306.  Service will follow at 11 am to 12 pm.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to Michigan Right to Life, 2340 Porter St. SW, P.O.
