Richard Kent Weston

Richard Kent Weston, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He retired after many years from General Motors. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and golfing. He also enjoyed attending the events of his grandchildren with his wife, Bev.

Dick was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Beverly; parents, Howard and Dorothy Weston; sister and brother: Natalie (Doug) Randall, Judith (Paul) Castle. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Scott Weston, Brenda (Rick) Chrisman, Brian (Carrie) Weston, Renee (Josh) Schueller; grandchildren, Jessica (Jon) Yonkers, Abby (Kyle) Wallis, Kaitlin Thornton (Lance Baldwin), Christina (Travis) Koon, Kimberly Weston Cruz, Bradley (Taylor) Chrisman, Katie (Sean) O'Rourke, Stacey (Gavin) Watson, Mallory Chrisman, Drew (Skyler) Chrisman, Megan (Connor) Rogers, Mason (Mikayla) Weston, Brock Weston, Kyle Weston, Colby Weston, Rachel Schueller, Brendan Schueller; great grandchildren, Evan, Sara, Sam, Leah, Jack, Claire, Anabelle, Caden, Charlie, Tenlee, Teo, Kahlia, Lucy, Emma, Annie, Ellen, Caroline, Landon, Hudson, Blake, Florence, Elizabeth, Sadie, Saylor, Rickie, Keaton; siblings: Chadwick (JoAnne) Weston, Douglas (Loretta) Weston; sister-in-law, Carol Weston; brother-in-law, Jim Durham; cousin, Tom (Judy) Weston and their children, Becky and Jody; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Hedy Plank and her daughter, Jackie. 

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4 at Bella Vista Church, 5100 Belding Rd., Rockford, with Pastor Jim Lacy officiating. Burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 6-8 p.m. at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, and Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
