Remembering Richard Kamminga
Richard Kamminga, age 94, of Byron Center, went to be with his Lord on Friday, May 24, 2019. Through his faith in Jesus Christ, who has conquered death, and by the grace of God, he has gone to his eternal home in glory. He was a man who loved to read the Bible, meditate on it, and memorize key verses. In addition, he enjoyed talking about the Bible with others. Rich loved to hear good sound Reformed preaching from the King James Version of the Bible. He also loved to play the harmonica for his own enjoyment and for the enjoyment of all who could hear him. He was a faithful and loving father to his son, Rick and his wife, Gail; a joyful grandfather to Kurt and Melanie Kamminga, and Linay and Jared Smith; a loving great-grandfather to Addison, and Jack Kamminga, and Gavin, and Hollyn Smith. He is also survived by his brother, Bernie and Henrietta Kamminga; sister, Marge Offringa; sisters-in-law, Ruth Kamminga, and Trudy Kamminga; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Jeanette; brothers, Fred and Al; and sisters, Martha, Grace, and Norma.
