Richard Frederick

Richard “Dick” Jay Frederick, age 83, formerly of Grandville, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024. Dick was a retired driver for UPS. He was part of the Grandville High School Wrestling Team community for 55 years. Dick was competitive in horseshoes, disc golf, and racquetball. He was also a devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers and University of Michigan football. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Sharon Frederick. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Charlie and Joanie Frederick, Dawn Frederick, Michael and Melissa Frederick; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Karilyn Frederick, Beverly Daily, Tom and Bev Frederick; Nelson Lanam; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 23, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Dean Prentiss officiating. The burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, May 22, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
