Richard “Dick” Chapin

Richard “Dick” L. Chapin, age 85, of Grandville passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 16, 2016.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Norma; children, Rick and Vicki Chapin, Kim Chapin, Sandy and Bill Kok; grandchildren, Phil and Erin Chapin, Lexie and Zache Harry, Erik and Stefanie Gould, Jason and Sarah Bigelow, Rachelle Raffel, Nikki Bigelow and fiancé Brad; 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  Dick owned and operated Chapin’s Auto Parts and Service in Wyoming for many years.  He loved to golf and had a hole in one at the Gleneagle Golf Club.   He also loved to bowl, play fast pitch softball and he was an avid Detroit Tigers and Lions fan.  Dick proudly served our country as a member of the United States Marines.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 23  at 3:00 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 2 - 3 pm prior to the service.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Humane Society.
