Mr. Richard Deppe, age 72, of Grandville, left this earth for his Heavenly Home on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Dick was a lively and kind hearted man who left his mark on many. With his generous wit and humor, he was able to bless those around him with his incredible joy for life. Dick was born to his parents, Richard and Alida Deppe of Grand Rapids on May 26, 1944. He grew up the youngest of eleven children. In 1965, he married Elizabeth, his wife of 51 years, and together they had three children and four grandchildren. Dick was the former owner of Grandville Trailer and a dedicated member of Newhall Community Church. His loves included: fishing, hunting, summers spent at the cottage, and most of all his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Alida Deppe; brothers, Gerard and Wilma Deppe, Jack Deppe; sisters, Lina and Bill Sellers, Nell VanDommelen, Margaret and William Kuiper; brothers-in-law, John Wigger, Del DeKleine. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Elizabeth Deppe; children, Mark and Sharon Deppe, Todd and Leslie Deppe, Lindsay Deppe; grandchildren, Keegan Deppe, Paige Deppe, Kalynn Deppe, Colin Graham; brothers, Frank and Bernice Deppe, John Deppe; sisters, Grace Wigger, Alida and Arnold Rotman, Freda DeKleine; sisters-in-law, Marge Deppe, Barbara VandenBerg; brothers-in-law, Glen VanDommelen, Jack and Colleen VandenBerg; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 5, at 11 AM at Newhall Community Church, 3746 Byron Center, Wyoming, with Rev. Dr. Dan Kroeze officiating. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 6-8 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Mel Trotter Ministries or a charity of one’s choice.

As a nephew of Dick I offer my condolences to his wife and children. Though I have not met Dick for some years I will always remember his gentle nature. May the Lord comfort you in this time of sorrow.

So Sorry for your loss
I will always remember how friendly you dad was , many memories of stopping into your shop and hanging out. I especially remember the last time Todd and raced the ICEMAN in Traverse City, he made it a point to call me on the phone and congratulate me for finishing.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Deppe. I will always remember him with a smile on his face and a great story to tell about any situation. He was a great man.
