Rhonda Erander-Duran

Rhonda Lynn (Huyser/Erander) Duran, age 50, of Plainwell, Michigan, left us to meet her loving Savior on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. A loving and selfless wife, mother, daughter, sister, and the greatest friend, Rhonda brought light wherever she went. She lit up every room with her radiant smile, infectious laugh, quick humor, boundless energy, and genuine joy for life. Her warmth and compassion were felt by all who knew her. Rhonda cared passionately for children and treasured the lifelong relationships she built through her years at the YMCA. Recently married to Joe Duran, Rhonda was truly living her best life—surrounded by love, waterfront views, and her beloved doggies, Petunia, Barley and Bernie.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Joe Duran; her cherished children, Camden Erander, Aubree Erander, and Flint Erander, as well as two sons she gained through her marriage, Dustin and Aaron Duran; her mother, Betty Huyser; and her siblings, Debbie Marshall and Mike Huyser. Rhonda’s spirit lives on in the countless memories she created—dancing, laughing, playing pranks, and joyfully reminiscing with those she loved most. Rhonda’s legacy is one of love, joy, and connection. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of Rhonda’s beautiful life will be held on Saturday, December 6, at Orchard Hill Church, 1465 Three Mile Rd. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49544. Visitation will take place from 9:30-11:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 11:00 a.m.
