Marc Renkema

Marc (Marcus) Renkema, age 54, of Bothell, WA, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2021. Throughout his short battle with pancreatic cancer, he looked forward to the glories of heaven and meeting his Savior Jesus Christ.
Marc was born on August 18, 1967, to Rev. William and Ann (nee Harkema) Renkema in Renfrew, Ontario, Canada. After graduating with a Psychology and Theology double major from Dordt College in Iowa, Marc continued his studies at Westminster Theological Seminary in California to pursue his calling to the ministry.
In 1992, Marc married Kari Post, the love of his life, on August 21. Together, they cherished serving the church of Christ and raising their four children, Julianne, Marc Jr., Joshua, and Jessica in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Marc had a deep love for the church and God’s people. He served in Chino, CA, and later was called to serve as the senior pastor of the Trinity Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Bothell, WA, where he remained for the last twenty-four years. Marc will be remembered as a gentle pastor, counselor, and teacher.
Marc is survived by his wife, Kari (Post) Renkema; his children, Julianne Renkema, Marc Renkema Jr., Joshua Renkema, and Jessica and Miles Pokorny; his parents, Rev. William and Ann Renkema; his siblings, Renee and Ken Anema, Steven and Anna Renkema, Denise and Brent Tjeerdsma, Joel and Sophia Renkema, and Eric Renkema; and many dear nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 13, at the Cornerstone United Reformed Church, 6442 36th Ave., Hudsonville, MI. The service will be livestreamed at https://www.cornerstoneurc.com/.
