Rev. Donn Harlan Rainbolt, aged 86, of Wyoming, was ‘promoted to Glory’ on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, Donn began his life in the ministry at The Mel Trotter Mission where he served for more than 50 years in numerous capacities. His passion was always the front line ministry to those most in need of spiritual guidance and he touched the lives of thousands of people over more than a half a century of service. He also conducted a Radio Bible Class for several years reaching many, was an instructor at Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music and was pastor at Spencer Mills Church in Gowen, MI. Donn will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, Alice; children, Deborah and Gordon Meekhof, Mark and Janet Rainbolt, John and Julie Rainbolt, Norm and Teresa Rainbolt; grandchildren, Amanda, Brandon, Jessica and Zack, Amy and Matt, Sara; six great grandchildren, Zackery, Bradley, Alexi, Talon, Lynnlee, Sawyer; brothers and sister, Jim (Rose) Rainbolt, Rex Rainbolt, Charlotte Heitzma. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Rainbolt Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday at Grace Bible Church, 3715 Wilson Ave., Grandville with Rev. Todd Kinde officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit the family on Friday at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming from 4-7pm. Memorial donations may be made to Grace Bible Church.

Donn was my half brother and was 15 years older than I. I didn't know him very well, but thought of him often. I had a bible that had been his however in a house robbery it was stolen. Sorry for your loss he was a great and gentle man.
