Rev. Arthur J. Besteman

On Sunday, October 1, 2017, the Lord called home his good and faithful servant, Rev. Arthur J. Besteman of Caledonia. Art was a loving dad and grandpa that treasured his family. He was blessed with a servant’s heart, and used that gift to serve many congregations throughout his ministry. He spent over 55 years in ministry, preaching the word of God, and loving God’s people. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Audrey (Honderd); and his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jane and Elmer Postma. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Debra and Earl Boeve, Diane and Naun Estrella, Arthur David and Gail Besteman; grandchildren, Zachary and Leah Boeve, Heidi Boeve, Ana, Liliana, Alicia, Elias Estrella, Kora, Alina, Arisa Besteman; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ruth Sjaardema, Ralph and Carol Honderd, David and Sheryl Honderd; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11 am at Bethany United Reformed Church, 5401 Byron Center Ave., Wyoming with his dear friend Rev. Wybren Oord and Rev. Casey Freswick officiating. Interment Grandville Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Mid America Reformed Seminary.
