Renetha S. Hogue

Sue Hogue, age 76, of Grand Rapids, was called home to be with Jesus on Friday, January 30, 2026, after a courageous journey with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Mary Jane Wymer; her husband and soulmate, Odis Hogue. 

Sue dearly loved her family and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, viewing each as a blessing from God. Over the years, she enjoyed crafts and creativity, her loving pets, and she dedicated many years as a mortgage loan processor. Kind and loving, with a determined spirit rooted in her faith, she trusted God through life’s seasons. She found comfort in quiet evenings with a good Hallmark movie and took simple joy in cheering on her favorite baseball team, especially the Chicago Cubs. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Crystal and David Stegehuis, Julie and Troy Jewett; her grandchildren, Jeremy and Hailey Stegehuis, Andrew Stegehuis, Matthew Stegehuis, Amber and Mike Case, Cory Jewett, Josh and Brittney Hays, Shannon Howard; twelve great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Al and Dianna Wymer; several loving nieces, nephews and cousins. 

At Sue’s request, a private family gathering will be held. Burial will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice - Trillium Woods.
