Bilot, Raymond Raymond Paul Bilot, age 88, of Byron Center, formerly of Grandville, passed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, April 27, 2014. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 55 years, Elsie Derieuw. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Gloria; his children, Edward Bilot, Ronald and Maria Bilot, Linda and Scott Snider; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Charles and Phyllis Bilot; sister-in-law, Virginia Bilot; many nieces and nephews; Gloria’s children and grandchildren. Ray valiantly served his country in the US Navy during World War II as an Aviation Electrician’s Mate. He worked in aviation electronics starting at the Lear Company. Ray was an avid pilot and all around handyman who ultimately built his own ultra light airplane at age 82. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 1 pm at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Ave. SW, Byron Center, with Fr. Jim Bilot Celebrant. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 12-1 pm at the church prior to the mass. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.

I often think of you. It was always a comfort knowing you were only a call away.I don't know if you know it, but I watched your solo flight in your new plane.I was just a around the corner.
