Ray G. Kinney

Ray G. Kinney, age 86, of Cutlerville, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Patricia; and his son, Scott. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Karen and Scott Kidder, Laura Gonzalez, Holly and Timothy Velting, Kim and Jeff Buchert; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; siblings, Sonya and Donald Mitchell of Ringgold, Georgia, Randy and Kristi Kinney of Onalaska, Wisconsin; extended family and friends. Ray proudly served our country retiring from the US Air Force. Ray was a big-hearted man, a loving father and grandfather, and always there for his family. Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, December 13, 2021 at Banner of Christ Community Church, 1111 68th St. SW, Byron Center, 49315 with Rev. Kent Myers officiating. Burial Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 10 am until the time of the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Disabled American Veterans.

I have known Ray 44 years. He was not only my father-in-law for 41 of those years, but also a good friend, and a second father to me.Ray in his last few years use to tell me this same story over and over but we still laughed. Ray was on the Air Force Softball team. He would say, "I loved to play in Germany because the loser would have to buy the winner Beer. We always brought Schlitz Beer...ha-ha-ha". I love you and will never forget you Ray. R.I.P.
