Ray Earl Schouten

Ray Earl Schouten, age 83, of Hudsonville, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 17, 2018. He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 58 years, Donna. Ray was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served his country. He was a kind and loving dad, grandpa, and great grandpa who cherished his family with an unconditional love. Ray retired from CSX Railroad after 43 years of dedicated service. He will be lovingly remembered by his son and daughter-in-law, Curt and Mary Schouten; grandchildren, Ashley and Adam Rousseau, Chelsey Schouten (Robert Toppel), Courtney Schouten; great granddaughter, Abree Toppel; brothers and sister-in-law, Tunis and Peg Schouten, Gordon Ostman; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Kathy Bos, Pat Uecker; former daughter-in-law, Jan Schouten; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW with Pastor Larry French officiating. Interment Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to Hospice of Holland.
