Ray Burt

BURT- Ray E. Burt age 84 of Comstock Park, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray O and Della Burt; sister and brother-in-law, Alta and Marshall Wright; young son, Kenneth. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Mary Lou; children, Michael (Caren) Burt of Lake Gogebic, UP, Patrice Payne of Greenville, Raymond Joel Burt of Grand Rapids, Pamela (Jack) Thomas of Fremont, Peggy (Paul) Bronson of Dorr; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. Ray was born at his family's farm, west of Hesperia Michigan. On May 20, 1949, he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Lou. He worked at Colonial/Michigan Bakeries for several years. Later he worked for Steelcase and retired from there after 25 years of service in 1991. He enjoyed traveling and cruises, as well as a vacation home on Kentucky Lake in western Kentucky, where he had many fishing buddies. Ray was a Charter member of North Kent Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM June 27, 2015 at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE, Belmont with visitation one hour prior to the service. Graveside services at West Hesperia Cemetery will take place 3:00PM Saturday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spectrum Hospice.
