Rev. Ralph D. Baker, age 94, of Jenison went to be with his Lord on Friday, June 29, 2018. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 69 years, Verna; his children, David and Mary Baker, Ron and Julie Baker, Laurel and John Ourensma, Tim Baker, Ken and Brenda Baker, Glenda and Brent Wassink; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; in-laws, Arlene Altena, John and Sharon Vreugdenhil, Grada Kiel; many nieces and nephews. Ralph proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. Ralph and Verna served their Lord among the Tiv people in Nigeria for 35 years with the Christian Reformed World Missions. Interment 9 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, at Georgetown Township Cemetery. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, at Twelfth Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 7581 12th Avenue, Jenison, with Rev. Henry Admiraal and Rev. James Evenhouse officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, July 5, from 6-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Drive SW. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Resonate Global Mission dedicated to ministries among the Tiv people of Nigeria.
