R. Jay Wagner

R. Jay Wagner, age 89, of Kentwood, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; son, Ron Wagner. He will be lovingly remembered by his children; Denice and Michael Charron, Jay and Brenda Wagner, Janice Marschall, Dan and Teri Wagner, Mary and Dan Mysliwiec, Laurie and Dennis Holden, George Wagner; daughter-in-law, Patricia Wagner; 27 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, Robert and Gloria Wagner; sisters, Jean and Jack VanVolkenburg, Joanne Woolston, June and Donald Hunter; many nieces and nephews. R. Jay owned and operated J & J Moving and Storage Company for many years before retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a founding member of St. Mary Magdalen Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2021, (1253 52nd St., Kentwood) with Rev. Peter Vu, celebrant. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 10-11a.m. at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Michigan.
