Phyllis Rose Kietzman, age 98, of Caledonia, went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 22, 2026. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Karen (Phil) Glupker, Daniel (Mary Jo) Kietzman, Dave (Deni) Kietzman, and Bruce (Lisa) Kietzman; 15 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; brother, Jim Sheehan; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Andrea Terranova. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Everett; siblings, Katherine (Ed) Wierenga, Mary (Paul) Keachele, Bob (Jean) Sheehan, and Mike (Elvis) Sheehan; sister-in-law, Wilma Sheehan. Phyllis, born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has lived a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories. Phyllis is the daughter of a nurse and a carpenter- farmer. Growing up on a farm on 92nd St, she was surrounded by the warmth of her family, which included three brothers and two sisters. She attended Caledonia School, where she met her future husband. After graduating from high school, she worked at Bell Telephone in accounting, while her husband became a mechanic. Together they raised four children, one girl and three boys. Phyllis and her husband enjoyed a long and loving marriage. Phyllis' life has been filled with hobbies and community involvement. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, and coaching girls’ volleyball and basketball. In her later years, she lived independently, surrounded by the love and support of her family. Phyllis cherished visits from her children and grandchildren, who admired her strength and resilience. She remains an inspiration to all who knew her. A shining example of a life well lived. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Holy Family with Rev. Michael Cilibraise officiating. Burial will be held at St. Patrick Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday, March 2, 2026, from 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 616 E. Main St. SE, Caledonia, as well as one hour prior to mass from 10-11am Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Epilepsy Foundation or to Juvenile Diabetes.
