Phillip R. Baird

Phillip R. Baird, age 70, went to Heaven to be with the Lord on April 10, 2017. He will be greatly missed by family and friends and mostly his wife, Cathy; son Randall and Heather Kraai, daughter Laura and Jason Vetrano; grandchildren James, Henry, Milo, Josiah; nephew Richard Wiley and family; sister-in-law Jeri Baird and family; and other extended family. Phillip was very proud of his lengthy service with the U.S. Army as well as his service during the Vietnam War. A time to celebrate Phillip’s life will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017, at the Park Clubhouse at Douglas Walker Park, 1195 84^th Street SW. Family will greet relatives and friends starting at 5pm, military honors at 5:30pm, immediately followed by a memorial service. Dinner to follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in memory of Phillip be made to a military veteran cause of your choice.

Phil was one of few men I held dear to my heart. He loved me unconditionally, and always pushed me to be better and do better. He made sure I knew that he loved me. I was so lucky to have him by my side encouraging me. Now my son has you and I know you two will have a great time. I know you'll keep your promise and take him fishing and keep him until we meet again. I love you deeply, and miss you terribly.

Phil was definitely one of a kind. One of the sweetest, most thoughtful, and loving people I have ever met. And boy could he cook!!! Philly's meatloaf will be on the menu very soon! Sending prayers and hugs to my sweet friend Cathy. I love you and I am so sorry for this devastating loss.
