Philip Tillotson

TILLOTSON - Philip A. Tillotson, age 78 entered eternal life on Thursday, January 29, 2015. He was born September 10, 1936 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Roy A. Tillotson and Gertrude (Blake) Tillotson. He was united to the death and resurrection of Jesus in the waters of Holy Baptism on March 28, 1937 and confirmed on February 2, 1969 at Messiah Lutheran Church, Grand Rapids, MI. On May 29, 1968 he married Norda Wollney at Messiah Lutheran Church. Surviving are his children, Christy (Darren) Fordham and Steven (Mary) Tillotson; grandchildren, Evan P. Fordham, Bradley Tillotson, Sean Tillotson and Amy Tillotson; sister in law, Gail Tillotson and several nieces and nephews. Philip was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard. Philip was a member of the Grand Rapids Men's Bowling Association for 28 years and served as Secretary of the Bowling Association for 8 years. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1955-1958. He and Norda were members of Messiah Lutheran Church for 46 years. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2727 5 Mile Rd NE, Grand Rapids. The family will greet relatives and friends one hour before the service at church. Memorial contribution may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 2727 5 Mile Rd.
