Philip Jones

Philip R. Jones, age 81, of Jenison, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 13, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rolland Warren Jones and Ruth Jones (Plummer).  He is survived by his brother, Rodney Jones, as well as his children, Russ Jones and Pamela McElmeel (Jones). He is also survived by three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Phil will be lovingly remembered by his close, long-time friend, Christine Russell, as well as many extended family and friends. 

Phil was a DJ in the mid-1960s and had many contacts in the record album trading world. He was a fan of classic early television, radio, and movies. He also spent time in the Navy on board a carrier as the resident DJ that broadcast to other ships and kept troops entertained with rock and roll such as Elvis and the Beatles. Phil was always up on the latest Rock and Roll news and was always keeping up with the music. He will be deeply missed. 

The graveside ceremony and burial will take place at Plummerville Cemetery, located off Lakeshore Drive, one mile west and a little north of US highway 31. Phil will be laid to rest alongside his father and mother and his Plummer ancestors on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 11 a.m. Family and friends are welcome to come and pay respects. Light refreshments will follow in his honor at the Butler restaurant in Saugatuck, Michigan.
