Philip Buer, age 87, of Caledonia, went to his Heavenly Home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 5, 2026. Phil will be lovingly remembered by his children, Michael Buer, Terry Buer, and Kathy (Mike) Moore; grandchildren, Nathan and Lindsey Moore; sister, Nancee (Jack) Williamson; brother-in-law, Jack Knoper; and his life partner, Kay Cole, along with her family: daughter, Cari, and grandchildren, Austin and Emily. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon, and siblings, Lee, Norm, Jim, and Marilyn. Phil graduated from Caledonia High School in 1958. Together with his brother, Norm, he was a partner in Buer Well Drilling for more than 50 years. Outside of work, Phil was an avid golfer and enjoyed staying active, playing competitive sports including fast pitch softball and hockey. He was known for his great sense of humor and warm, memorable smile. Phil and Kay shared a love of travel and enjoyed many adventures together in their RV. For the past 20 years, Phil especially looked forward to spending the winter months in Florida. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026, at Ada Bible Church, 2045 68th St. SE, Caledonia, MI 49316, with Pastor Aaron Buer officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Sunday, October 11 from 3-5 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Caledonia) 616 E.
