Philip Ray Agema, age 74, of Hudsonville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 2, 2020. His love for the Lord was evident in his daily walk.  Phil spoke often of how his family was his greatest blessing and his desire for all of his family was for them to know and love the Lord personally.  His quick wit, silliness, and quirky noises will be remembered fondly.  Phil was driven, had an amazing work ethic, and loved helping his family out with various projects.  He was a very handy man to have around, as he could figure most anything out.  Phil enjoyed painting for the past 57 years.  Painting allowed him to flex his creativity, meet a lot of people, and make a difference in their lives.  His family marveled at the fact that he never met a stranger.  It brought Phil great joy to meet someone and learn their life’s story.  He was preceded in death by his grandson, Zachary Agema; mother, Ruth (Nederhood) Agema; his father, Albert Agema; both of his step moms, Henrietta (Moes Koster) Agema, and Janet (Bolt Dykhouse) Agema; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Janice Agema; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Elizabeth Smith; and brother-in-law, Richard Smith.  He will be remembered with love by his wife of 57  years, Carole (Smith) Agema; children, David and Michelle Baas, Rick and Lynn Agema, Kyle and Becca Kunnen, Pat and Jeni Siler; 12 grandchildren: Nicholas and Andrea Baas, Tyler Baas, Alex and Sarah Baas, Cameron and Dylan Agema, Drew, Bailey, Troy, and Logan Kunnen, Hunter, Jaxon, and Lilian Siler, 1 great-grandson, Theodore Baas; brothers, Don and Nelvah Agema, Kuss and Marcia Koster; sisters, Linda and Bern Mulder, Jean Ouwinga, Minerva and Jack DeVries; brother-in-law, Gord and Julie Smith; and sister-in-law, Pat Smith.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Friday, July 17, 2020, from 5-8 p.m. at Cottonwood Church, 1101 Cypress Dr., Jenison.  A private family graveside service will be held at Georgetown Township Cemetery.  Memorial contributions can be made in his name to Unity Christian High School, 5900 48th Ave., Hudsonville, MI 49426, https://www.unitychristian.org/
