Peter VandeGuchte, age 90 of Wyoming, went to his heavenly home surrounded by his family on Monday, April 21, 2025. His career was spent at Calvin University working as Registrar, Vice President, and Business Professor. Peter loved his God and enjoyed His creation.  He made his family feel cherished and loved. Pete was a great listener and went out of his way to help everyone around him, living out his faith in a way that was contagious, genuinely caring for those around him. Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Judy; his children and grandchildren, Cindy and Dan Marsman (Christopher and Kathryn Marsman, Natalie and Clay Eshman, Jordan and Erin Marsman), Ren and Kris VandeGuchte (Alex VandeGuchte, Andrew and Kelly VandeGuchte, Aaron and Jessica VandeGuchte), Joy Betten (Emma Betten, Samuel Betten); 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma DeJong; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Marten and Betty VandeGuchte, and brother-in-law, Norman DeJong. A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Jeremy Scripps officiating. Burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday, April 25 from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Calvin University or Pine Grove Community Church.
