Kluitenberg, Peter R. KLUITENBERG – Peter Reinier Kluitenberg, aged 89, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully to his heavenly home on Sunday, August 29, 2010. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Theodora Johanna Glupker; 2 brothers in the Netherlands; 2 sisters in Australia. He was a faithful and devoted husband, a fine Christian father, and a wise and gentle man. Peter will be greatly missed by his wife of 57 years, Tena (Trijntje Smedema); children: Gerard John (Deborah) Kluitenberg of Manhattan, KS, Edward Henry (Rae Ann) Kluitenberg of Pittsburgh, PA; son-in-law, Craig Glupker of Grand Rapids, MI; 8 grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Jikke Kluitenberg, Cornelia Kluitenberg; 3 brothers-in-law, Hette (Ge) Smedema, Dick (Riek) Smedema, Johan (Fransiska) Smedema and many nieces and nephews all from the Netherlands and Australia. Funeral services for Peter will be held 10:00 am on Tuesday at Raybrook Manor, 2121 Raybrook SE, Grand Rapids, with Rev. James Kralt officiating. Interment Garfield Park Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit the family from 9 – 10:00 am on Tuesday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Raybrook Assistance Fund.
