Remembering Peter “Pete” Fiers

Peter “Pete” Fiers, age 91, of Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly and went to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 31, 2019. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Patricia Fiers, Rick (Rita) Fiers, Linda (Tom) Damstra, Pam (Gary) Adler; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Stark; brother-in-law, David (Judi) Bass. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday, September 6, at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Pastor Dean Wheeler officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 7-9 pm at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Love INC (3300 Van Buren St., Hudsonville, MI 49426) or Loving Hands Ministries (PO Box 1157, Bradenton, FL 34206).

Found out tonight at church, Happy Gospel that I lost my pew buddy.I saved seats ten years for my blanket buddy, Frani and my pew buddy, Pete. Was shocked I hadn't heard. Was so sad. I looked forward to sitting with him again this season. I know how he missed his beloved Frani and know he is in Heaven Praising our Lord together.with her. He was the youngest 91 year old I ever knew. Always there to help in Church with anything and everything. He will be greatly missed. He was one wonderful nice guy.. .

Pat, Rick, Linda, Pan, and families, I am so sorry for the empty place in your hearts. I loved Uncle Pete so much. He was one of the greatest men I have ever known. Of course as a child I thought he was God. Just that deep voice telling me and Linda to stop laughing was enough. If Aunt Fran told us it made us laugh Harder. Then she played her Ace... They both must have laughed theirselves to sleep at the fear put on two little girls. Again our thoughts prayers, and love are with you....
