Jensen, Alfred "Pete" After a courageous battle with cancer, Pete Jensen, age 68, of Grandville completed his journey on earth and was welcomed to his eternal home with Christ on March 12, 2013.  He was giving and kind and had a great sense of humor.  He was proud of his family and very supportive.  He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.  Pete worked for Universal Forest Products for 20 years. Many friendships were established while he enjoyed his time at Sandy Pines and as a longtime member of Grandville United Methodist Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Jerene Jensen.  He will be dearly missed by his wife of 41 years, Jane (Huttenga); their children, Wendy (Jay) Warren, Amy (Kevin) DeVries, Melissa (Martin) Schoenborn, Eric (Kela) Jensen; grandchildren, Emma, Maya, and Noah DeVries, Isaac, Levi, and Stella Schoenborn; sister, Janet (John) Gunn; brother-in-law, Jack (Robin) Huttenga; special aunt, Clarice Hendrickson; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.  A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday  at 11 am at Grandville United Methodist Church, 3140 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, with Rev. Tom Pier Fitzgerald officiating.  Interment Floral View Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 1-3 and 5-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (Kentwood) 4646 Kalamazoo SE and Saturday from 10-11am at the church prior to the service.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Tulip Tree Fund of Hospice of Holland or Congregational Care Fund of Grandville United Methodist Church.  The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Hospice House of Holland for the compassionate and loving care given to Pete.
