Peggy Lee Wissner

Peggy Lee Wissner, aged 74 of Wyoming, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, May 1, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wissner, parents, Gurney and Viola Crooks Sr. Surviving are her children, Dan Wissner, Dawn and John Converse; grandchildren, Cody, Riley, Austin Converse; sister, Judy and Bruce VanderBand; brother, Buddy Crooks; sisters-in-law, Carol Heeren, June and Bob Jones, Viola Little; God-daughter and niece, Kelli and Dwaine VanderLoon; nephew, Todd VanderBand; several nieces, nephews and cousins. “May your gardens and flowers flourish in heaven.” Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Friday at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW with Fr. Mike Alber presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. The family will meet relatives and friends Thursday 6-8pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming and Friday 10-11am at the church prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Association for the Blind or the Humane Society of West Michigan.

We were out-of-town when we got the news that Peggy had passed away. We were saddened to learn of her death. Peggy was an example to all of a caring individual. I wanted to offer a poem by Kahlil Gibran that I find helpful in times like these. Deb and I wish the whole family the peace that comes with knowing that Peggy has moved on to a much better place. On Death Kahlil Gibran You would know the secret of death. But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life? Is the shepherd not joyful beneath his trembling, that he shall wear the mark of the king? Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling? For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered? Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.

Judy, Buddy and Family, I am so sorry to hear of Peggys passing. May God wrap his arms around you and bring you comfort in this time of need. Peggy was a beautiful lady and will be missed.
