Paulette Jean DeBoer (Wierenga), age 69, of Hudsonville, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren in 2008, father, Paul Wierenga, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Willis and Betty DeBoer. She will be lovingly missed by her children and grandchildren, Dean & Rhonda DeBoer (Megan, Lindsey), Mark & Angie DeBoer (Morgan, Mickela); mother, Alice Wierenga; sister, Barb & John Battjes; brother, Tim & Marlene Wierenga; many loving nieces and nephews. Paulette was a loving mother, daughter and nana who treasured her family. She could always be found in attendance at every event or activity that involved her grandchildren. She was very active at her church, serving her Lord with her time and talents, including traveling with various mission trip teams. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting and embraced peaceful moments walking the beach. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 11 am at Fellowship Reformed Church, 6610 – 36th Ave., Hudsonville, MI 49426. Interment Georgetown Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, from 5-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Friday from 10-10:45 am at the church prior to the service. The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude for the compassionate love and care given to Paulette. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Georgetown/Cambridge Manor.

Dean and Mark (and your families) we spend you our sympathy in the passing of your mom Paulette. Her struggles are over and she is enjoying heavens glories. For you a new journey . Our heartfelt thoughts and love go out to the families as you move through your loss. I have so many fond memories of being with Paulette and Warren, and two delightful boys! My youngest daughter is named is Paulette, and this has brought great reflection on those years past. Please give Alice a hug for me. She was always so warm and gracious to me during the many visits to Michigan. Semper fi my dear friend...Heaven is getting an Angel!!
