Paul Root

Paul Root, born May 2, 1965, in Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on February 16, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1983 and built a life centered on family, laughter, and loyalty. He worked at Coca-Cola for 20 years, where he was known for his dedication and hard work. Paul leaves behind his wife, Crystal Root; his sons, Ryan (Jessica) Root, and Chad Root; bonus daughters, Lexus (Brett) Baxendale, Kyha Price, and Avrianna Price; his beloved granddaughters, Alivia Root and Kinsley Root. He is also survived by his parents, Larry and Dorothy Root; brothers, Brian (Tabitha) Root, and Gregory Root; nephew, Joe (Cierra) Root; niece, Sarah Root; and his favorite uncle, Richard and Pat Root. 

Paul loved hunting, snowmobiling, and the outdoors. He also spent much of his time helping friends and family with their cars, but most of all he enjoyed working tirelessly on his Volkswagen Bug. He cherished time with his dog, Harley, his friend, Burt, and every moment spent with his family. His kind heart and goofy spirit brought laughter and comfort to those around him. 

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale) 6651 Scott St. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Friday from 1-2 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
